So another response which is good, due to the fact some other companies who agreed to see my portfolio and give me feedback have yet to get respond. 

Hazelnut Studio

Hazelnut studio is a studio that represent freelancers work that work in Illustrator or Photoshop. They don't give that much away on their site about what areas of surface design they focus in. I contacted them anyway asking if they could see my portfolio because they do say on the site that they are always looking for new designers to showcase . So something positive may come from be contacting them.

Splash Studio reply

I also got a pretty quick reply from Splash Studi agreeing to see my porfolio. Jill who is the President of the company sent me an email back saying:

'Yes I would love to see your portfolio please forward it to me'

So that another portfolio visit hopefully sorted as I sent her my portfolio so I also hope for some good feedback from Splash Studio.

So I excitedly sent her my portfolio so I'm hoping for some great constructive feedback from her, fingers crossed.

Citrus Rain - Poplin

I received an email from the sales team saying that there will obviously be a slight difference in colour for the fact it a different weight and type of material. So it will be slightly faded but not a vast difference. I decided  to just use Duchess Satin as I knew by using this my dresses will look more put together and  I will know the prints will turn out how I want them when it comes to colour.

Citrus Rain

After ordering material samples from citrus rain I finally got them in the post and after research I decided to go with Duchess Satin, quite a sturdy satin. I chose this material for a few reasons. One, My designs are all about colour, vivid bright colour and when using the digital printers to create my designs, colour comes best out on Satin. By using Duchess Satin it will showcase my colourful prints to there full potentional. I may also use a material called 'Poplin' this is a man made material and is very smooth and slightly translucent, which I may use for the side panels and sleeves to give my dresses a bit of edge. I will only use Poplin if my prints will come out with the same vibrancy as it would of Duchess Satin. If not I will just use Duchess Satin because I don't want to use a type of material that will not truly show my designs off. I will know more on this when I get a response from the printers.

Studio9 London

This studio I contacted is based on fashion print for fashion based in North London. They say on their website 'with clients in Uk, Europe and America, offering  fashion prints, embroidery, T-shirt graphics and garment concepts  for contemporary womenswear and juniorwear.
They also have a in house team of designers and people who work for them outside the studio more so people they decide to collaborate with to help push their designs to the next level. So I contacted them asking if they could see my portfolio due them being based in London so I could visit them if they so wished and for the fact they base their work mainly in the digital print aspect. 

Splash Ltd studio, NY

                                                                                I contacted Another surface design studio based in NewYork.  They specialise in all surface design areas and from what I gather they love bright colour too. They are an art design studio and an agency. They create and buy and sell work to fashion companies such as Abercrombie to Oscar de le Renta. So Splash Ltd seems the place to be when creating now prints that will be produced for some of the most successful and renowned fashion companies. therefore it would be nice for reply to agree to see my portfolio.

Dianne Harrison Design Studio

Dianne Harrison studio is based in Manchester. They produce design for Apparel to interior and is one of the leading studios when it comes to design world wide. I contacted them or  a number of reasons. They based in Manchester, they create flora colourful designs and they specialise in clothing. So no reason for me not to contact them. This would be also a good opportunity for me to show my portfolio face to face and gain something from that experience rather than sending a PDF of my work, therefore it would be nice to hear something back.

SUK Design

Sukanhlee is a London based fashion consultant who graduated with an MA in fashions womenswear and focuses on fashion prints for the design world as well as delving into animation and art exhibitions to show off her work.  As it says on her website 'she always in enjoys the challenge of  experimenting with colour, line, shape and Graphic imagery'. She has created many designs for the fashion world, catering to high-street market up to high-end brands.
I decided to contact her to see if she was available to look through my portfolio. I got in contact with Sukanhlee for the pure reason that one of her main drives is vivid colour, which is also one of mine main interest/drives when it comes to design, and from looking through her website it comes across that she likes to have fun and experiment with her work. So fingers crossed I hear something back as  I think someone who has a love for colour , is someone I could really benefit from.

Cath Stamp - Seamtress

My tutor suggested a good seamstress called Cath who works in the A Level building in Greek street. So I went to discuss the possibility of her constructing my dresses, and the best way to go about it. I showed her the pattern I wanted and she said she would happily make my dresses for a fee of £25 each, which I thought was quite reasonable. She created a mock up version of the dress and I asked her to make a few changes from the original pattern. For example the neckline to be round not a slash style, and to also have side panels connecting to the back. I may also ask her to lower the pockets and I think I need to get someone to try the mock up on, so I evaluate if the style works on the human body and length etc. I also suggested the fact I wanted  silk/ satin fabrics, as digital prints show up so well on those kind of material and for the fact they are one offs, silk is a fabric associated with luxury. Cath suggested using a more heavier material like cotton or linen for the fact it doesn't fray that much. So it seemed as if she really didn't want to use silk/ satin. I now received my fabric samples from citrus rain and will put together final outcome boards to then go to see her next week to clearly show my vision and get across that silk/satin is the best type of material for my dresses. Fingers crossed.

I got a quick response from Print house studio the next day in fact saying

This obviously was break through for me due not getting any responses till now. So I sent two samples of my work and hope to get some constructive feedback.
